We also offer you a magnificent visit to the north of the country. This three-night, four-day tour will take you to the main island, the so-called “Grande Terre”.
Among the attractions not to be missed:
Ankarana National Park, characterized by a dry forest rich in animals and plant species typical of this area and by extraordinary rock formations such as the Tsingy Rary (canyon) and “the abyss of the three rivers”. Ask the guide to tell you the story of these places and the people who lived there – you won’t regret it.
The Red Tsingy Canyon, a beautiful limestone and ferrous rock formation, with colors ranging from red to yellow to purple. It is almost impossible to describe – you have to see it. Sunset in this landscape is an unforgettable experience.
The city of Diego Suarez, one of the largest shopping centers in Northern Madagascar, where numerous architectural traces of the country’s colonial past remain.
The Amber Mountain Park, a rainforest with a perpetually cool and humid climate, populated by unique animal and plant species in the world, including, for example, the smallest chameleon ever discovered, as well as many species of lemurs and geckos. Remember to bring shoes, warm clothes and a raincoat.
The Three Bays, the most beautiful beaches in this area of Madagascar, overlooking the Indian Ocean. The colors of the sea and sand are simply splendid. The Baia dei Piccioni, in particular, is surrounded by incredible rocks eroded by the sea.
The Emerald Sea, which as we understand from the name is famous for its color and transparency. Here you can snorkel on the coral reef. Don’t forget mask and fins!
La Montagna dei Francesi, the necropolis of the French colonizers, where spectacular baobabs grow.
The city of Ambanja, the urban center of the Great Earth closest to Nosy Be.
The plantations of coffee, cocoa, vanilla and spices, the products of Madagascar which are exported all over the world.
For this trip, Emeraude Lodge puts at your disposal a qualified guide who speaks Italian, an off-road vehicle and a local driver. The roads in northern Madagascar are difficult to travel in several places, and it is for this reason that it is particularly important to have a suitable vehicle and an experienced driver. Breakfasts, lunches, dinners and overnight stays are booked in advance at facilities we have been relying on for years, and are included in the tour price. Entrance tickets are also included for the various attractions you will want to visit, as well as the fees for the park guides.
ATTENTION: The Northern Tour includes many possible activities and attractions, but of course it is up to you to decide which ones interest you most, based on your preferences and the time available. We will be happy to advise you and provide you with all the necessary information.
